Did he predict the threats of the 21st century? Or… are robots no danger for us? So far, robots can perform many quite easy tasks, but we want to challenge them! Do you think artificial intelligence is able to create an enjoyable theatre script?
Ami Joshi, 21, Iron City, Tennessee. I have had several papers written and each one was excellent and followed the required guidelines. Write what you know, write what you feel and remember you are writing for the theatre. These are the fundamental tips I would pass on to a first-time playwright. But playwriting isn't just about instinct, integrity and heart — it is also about pragmatism. I read for a number of theatres and playwriting competitions and I'm surprised how often writers neglect the practical side of playwriting: the presentation of the play, the lay-out, stage directions and even the cast list — all these aspects matter greatly. Some writers are so brilliant they can ignore such concerns, or at least give the impression of doing so. Beckett could have described his characters as vegetables and written his plays in comic strip form and their cool power would have still blasted off the page.

The scheme is committed to "opening up theatre to the most exciting and diverse range of new voices" and has a biennial national playwriting competition open to anyone aged 25 or under. There's always been something a bit daft - if not plain discriminatory - about the cut-off age of 25 for the writers programme. It's as if older emerging playwrights don't exist, or aren't in need of encouragement and support. The good news is that the age restriction will be lifted in , ostensibly making the Royal Court's introduction to playwriting courses open to all.
The dialogue is between a prostitute and her client. Both characters are lonely; both damaged by events in their lives. Both share a sense of abandonment. He suffers from loss through death; she from abusive people who treat her as a commodity and do not value her as a person.
